Directive 9:

Co- Producer, Editor, Visual Development, Music Composition, Storyboard, Social Media Coordinator
Directive 9 is the story of a young android man who aims to find his purpose in life. When he discovers a procedure that will alter his parts- who he is in what remains human- he steels his nerves to leave the city in search of something More. Will he find something out there for him, or will he become lost in the wasteland of the unknown world?
Animatic/Work In Progress

The original concept of Directive 9 was pitched by a fellow classmate, our Director, Megan Morman, Although the film was cut shortly after the end of our pre-production phase, we as a team agreed to post our hard work and effort put into the film thus far.

Over summer I worked closely with the Director and my team to create a coherent version of the story in script format. This was shortly after translated into a storyboard, which became an approx. seven minute long animatic. With critiques from the team and fellow classmates, I refined an edit of about four minutes total while maintaining the film's theme- Nine's journey to find himself and maintain his humanity. This animatic depicts the third act in his journey, based on my art of the Fallen World. Later I additionally composed music to go along with our full animatic (posted on the Music Page).

Character Expressions
Creating the right design for our characters was a collaborative effort. The picture at the top of the page- our Instagram page's profile photo- was a depiction I drew before Nine's concept was finalized. After the respective artists for Nine and the Nurse android refined their designs I explored expressions that reflected their respective personalities.

Social Media:

I aided our film's exposure by communicating with the head Social Media Director of our team. I gave her notes based on my experience with social media and aided in post layout and scheduling (based on a Monday/Wednesday/Friday schedule). When the film was cut short, I was finalizing the last layout for the page- a spread illustration that depicted the aesthetic of our film while also making space for our teammates' introductions (depicted below). I also created a profile picture of Nine to reflect the film's change in style (left).
